Be Not Afraid: The Life and Words of Stephen

This Sunday we looked at Acts 6 and 7 and the story of Stephen. His life can seem otherworldly but the same Spirit who worked through his faith in Christ shows up and demonstrates his kingdom through our lives, too. Stephen is a man we want to identify with. The text says he has faith, is full of the Holy Spirit, wisdom, power and grace. His words in chapter 7, however, may not initially feel like they are directed our way. It might be good not to be too quick to dismiss them, but to pay attention and see if they are actually for our own hearts.
