The World, The Flesh, and The Devil - Week 3

There are very few people in the world who wake up every morning and don’t hope or wish to do some good with their day. Most people would say they value kindness, generosity, and love. Most friendships start with both people wanting to honor one another, not exploit or betray. Most marriages begin with infidelity or divorce being the enemy, not the preferred exit plan. So then why doesn’t our world look that way? Why has it never looked that way? Scripture is clear that a big part of the problem is us. It uses the word “flesh” to show us how our egos, biases, opinions, and self-reliance turn our good intentions into sin, even evil. So then what do we do? Do we just accept this? Thankfully, the Bible, and ultimately Jesus, say we absolutely should not accept this and there is a different way than the way of the flesh.
